Poland (OH) Fire District Auctioning Off Its 1983 Ford Grumman Pumper

The Poland (OH) Fire District is auctioning off one of its fire trucks.

Sealed bids for the 1983 Ford Grumman pumper—with 28,860 miles on it—will be accepted through 12 p.m. on December 8.

“The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids,” a Facebook post says. “The successful bidder shall pay by certified check or money order.”

Anna (TX) Fire Rescue to Open Central Station

Anna (TX) Fire Rescue is pleased to announce the grand opening of our new Central Station and Fire Administration today at 3 p.m.

“Our former Central Station served our community for more than 45 years, and now we turn the page to a new chapter,” the department says.

The new 16,824-square-foot facility features:

  • State of the art Emergency Operations Center and training space
  • Smart station alerting system
  • 3 1/2 double length apparatus bays
  • Sleeping alcove bunk rooms with adjacent dayroom, kitchen, dining area and physical agility room3:00 p.m. ceremony followed by an open house.

City of Decatur (IL) Selling Retired Fire Station 3

The City of Decatur is accepting proposals for the sale of the recently retired Decatur Fire Station #3 located at 1308 W. Eldorado St. in Decatur, IL.  Proposals will be accepted now through December 3rd via email to jkindseth@decaturil.gov or by hard copy delivered to the Decatur City Manager’s Office.

The property is highly visible, at a lighted intersection, across the street from commercial businesses.  The property is 18,000 square feet with a 3,483 square foot brick building.  The facility though originally constructed in 1926, has been well maintained as a Decatur Fire Station until last month.  More information about the property and building can be found here.

The City will provide two open house opportunities for interested parties to see the interior of this unique property, the first on Nov. 22 from 7-9 am and a second on December 1, 4-6 pm. Prospective buyers should provide an offer price (suggested minimum of $100K) along with a description of what they intend to do with the property both in the near term and longer term. The City intends to sell the property to those who have the best plan for the property which meets the needs of this neighborhood and the community as a whole.

Tri-Township (OH) Fire Department Breaks Ground on New Station

The Tri-Township (OH) Fire Department recently broke ground on a new station in Delaware, reports delgazette.com.

The facility will replace Thurman Evans Station 331 and be located about a mile from it, the report says.

Officials say the plan is to temporarily move the railroad to the east while the overpass is removed, a new one is installed, and the road is widened by two lanes.

This project still has a start time of spring 2022, according to the report.
