Warren County (GA) Fire Rescue Takes Delivery of $450k E-ONE Pumper

Warren County (GA) Fire Rescue recently took delivery of a $391,660 E-One side-mount rescue pumper on an FC94 cab and chassis. In addition to $62,980 worth of equipment, the total price came to $454,640, reports mcduffieprogress.com.

Officials say the apparatus has a 1,000-gallon tank and can pump 1,500gpm.

A $100,000 grant covered part of the purchase price, while the remainder will be paid via low-interest loan to be repaid with SPLOST funds, the report says.

The apparatus is the first of three new engines the county will put into service before 2025—when new state standards will require an engine in every station. The six county stations all have trucks, but only three boast apparatus that qualify per standards, according to the report.

Milton (GA) Fire-Rescue’s Station 41 Shut Down Due to Black Mold

Milton (GA) Fire-Rescue’s Station 41 on Arnold Mill Road has a black mold problem and has been closed after it made several members sick. Its crews are operating out of a nearby station until the issue is resolved.

After several firefighters became sick, tests were done and high levels of black mold spores were found in the sleeping quarters. None of the ill had any serious symptoms.

The department removed crews from Station 41 late last week, and officials say there shouldn’t be any negative effects on coverage.

It could take a couple of weeks to rid the station of mold, though.

The MACK-5500™ Multi-Air Command Kit

Chesapeake, Virginia – November 17, 2021

Air Systems International introduces the newest product to its Multi-Air Command Kit (MACK) Series, the MACK-5500™. MACK’s™ are portable air distribution units designed to meet the most demanding air handling needs of fire and emergency response teams. All MACK™ units start with the MACK-1™ functionality of providing low pressure breathing air from SCBA cylinders or a bank of large storage cylinders. More advanced models offer multiple air pressure regulators for confined space rescue operations and mid-range pressure for rescue tools.

The MACK-5500™ retains all the features and functionality of a standard MACK-3™ unit with the added benefit of higher incoming pressures for today’s SCBA’s and mobile cascade systems. Newly developed breathing air regulators now handle the rigors of cycling inlet pressures ranging from 500 psi to 5,500 psi while precisely maintaining outlet pressures and flow to the connected respirators.

With a “set and forget” outlet control and easily identifiable and manageable air circuits, the operating attendant is now free to manage and cycle the various input sources as needed.

MACK-5500™ Key Details:

• Four (4) Flexible incoming SCBA connect whips

• Two (2) Incoming CGA-347 Male Adapters

• Two (2) 0-5,500 psi input, 0-125 psi adjustable breathing air regulators

• One (1) 0-5,500 psi input, 0-275 psi adjustable tool air regulator

• One (1) 0-5,500 psi input, 0-5,000 psi adjustable SCBA fill regulator

“The new MACK-5500™ adds to our innovative and industry leading breathing air distribution products for use by fire and rescue personnel,” says Stephen Durr, Marketing Manager.

Young Siblings Break Piggy Bank to Support Huntersville (NC) Fire Department
