Jacksonville (IL) Man Steals $500k Apparatus, Gets Arrested

Cory M. Fisher was arrested on multiple charges—including theft over $500,000 and reckless driving—Sunday morning after being accused of stealing a Jacksonville (IL) fire truck and damaging it when the apparatus hit a street sign, reports myjournalcourier.com.

Fisher, 30, allegedly stole the truck from the Jacksonville Fire Department station at 200 W. Douglas Ave. and drove it down West Douglas Avenue. The truck hit a street sign when it turned north onto North Church Street, damaging both the sign and the truck, according to the report.

Damage to the truck was minor, police officials say, and there were no injuries.
