Thief Steals Newark (NJ) Battalion Chief’s Truck

A thief stole a fire truck from the Newark (NJ) Fire Department while it was out of quarters on Sunday afternoon.

According to a report published by RSL Media.com, the suspect jumped into a Newark fire battalion truck at about 1 pm on July 4th. Newark officers quickly found the vehicle and began a pursuit. Officers with the Port Authority, State Police and the North Bergen Police were notified of the chase.

Police lost the vehicle on the New Jersey Turnpike, but later found the vehicle and driver when he bailed from the truck in Ridgefield Park, NJ, according to the published report.

Apparatus-Involved Crash in TX

A crash involving a Houston (TX) Fire Department engine Saturday morning around 11 a.m. blocked part of South Loop 610, reports abc13.com.

It’s not exactly clear what happened; crews were already on another call as the car crash unfolded. Firefighters could be seen on video working to pull someone from the vehicle involved.

One person was transported to a hospital in critical condition, though no firefighters were injured, officials say.

Apparatus-Involved Crash in PA; 3 Firefighters Suffer Minor Injuries

One fire truck was involved in a crash after multiple crews responded to a house fire on the 1500 block of Division Highway in Ephrata Township (PA) Saturday, reports wgal.com.

Officials say the call for the fire came in shortly after 7 p.m., and that the fire was contained to the single home.

One apparatus crashed along Division Highway en route to the fire, and three firefighters involved suffered minor injuries.

The fire, during which no injuries were reported, had shut down parts of U.S. 322 at Division Highway.

Ephrata Twp. (PA) Firefighters Hurt in Fire Truck Crash Responding to House Fire

Three Ephrata Township (PA) firefighters were injured when they were involved in a fire truck crash as they were responding to a structure fire on Saturday night.

According to television station WGAL8, the fire truck crashed on Division Highway while on the way to a fire in a single-family home.

No injuries were reported involved with the structure fire and the ones involving the fire truck were described as minor.
