The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Lisbon Fire Department (OH) Applying for Grant for Fire Station

The Lisbon Fire Department is considering applying for a grant to build a new fire station, reports The Review.

A fire official proposed the idea of applying for the $700,000 to $800,000 grant from USDA to council. He also requested permission to purchase the back parking lot for use by the firefighters.

Council decided to table the matter and take time to discuss the idea before voting.

Sandy Springs (GA) Proposes Budget for Fire Station

Sandy Springs City Manager Andrea Surratt proposed a $108 million budget that includes funding a new fire station, reports Reporter Newspapers.

The largest capital expenditure proposed for fiscal year 2022 is the $5million fire station. The city bought the property in February for $450,000. Bond funds were designated for this project.

Georgina (ON) Fire and Rescue Moves Into New Digs

Fire crews, apparatus and auxiliary equipment in the Town of Georgina (ON) have moved into the new Pefferlaw Fire Station 1-8 this past weekend. The Town is planning for the official grand opening once provincial guidelines permit.

The town approved the design of Pefferlaw Fire Hall in December 2017 and awarded the contract to build it on June 20, 2018.

Crews, fire apparatus and auxiliary equipment have moved into their new fire hall. The Pefferlaw Fire Hall is a beautiful addition to the community. The Town is planning for the official grand opening once provincial guidelines permit. More: https://t.co/7MFZJz8zTA pic.twitter.com/h7IVU5jjrC

Sunset Beach (NC) Fire Department Receives New Ladder Truck

Following a successful final inspection last week, Sunset Beach (NC) Fire Department yesterday received its new ladder truck.
