The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Pump it Up: Bedford County (TN) Fire-Rescue Gets New Truck

Bedford County (TN) Fire-Rescue has taken delivery of a new Sutphen custom pumper, reports t-g.com.

The pumper, which officials showed off in front of the Bedford County Courthouse during committee meetings, is assigned to Station 1 in Shelbyville—replacing a truck being moved to an almost-complete station in Rover.

The Rover station will be considered a part of the Unionville hall. Further expansions are planned as funds become available, officials say.

Oklahoma City (OK) Fire Station 6 Honored

Quail Creek Bank, the sponsor of Proud to Serve, is recognizing Fire Station 6 for its role in the community, reports KFOR 4.

Fire Station 6 also includes an Oklahoma City firefighters museum that features a 1910 American LaFrance engine.

Logan (UT) Municipal Council Tables Proposal for Fire Station

The Logan Municipal Council voted to table the resolution of building a new fire station until more information and data can be provided, reports The Herald Journal.

The fire chief provided the council a presentation that detailed possible sites for a future station, including his preference for the site. But, this option has multiple surrounding business owners concerned about loss of parking and customers.

The Municipal Council wants more information, including traffic studies for the locations being considered for the new fire station..
