Catarina to Head Safety Components' European Sales Efforts

Marta Doménech Catarina

Safety Components, Inc. (SCI), the world leader in technology driven fabric solutions for high performance, flame resistant fabrics, is pleased to announce the addition of Marta Doménech Catarina to its Protective Fabrics team. Marta comes to Safety Components from Alfredo Grassi, S.p.A. where she was the Technical & Commercial Manager for Spain. During Marta’s 20+ years of textile experience, she has amassed a broad range of experience in sales, marketing, and customer service as well as distribution and product development. Marta studied at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, in Terrassa, Spain, with a concentration in Textile Engineering.

As the European Sales Director, Marta will be responsible for supporting garment manufacturers, distributors and end use customers in the expansion of SCI protective fabrics for use in industry leading firefighting, wildland, rescue, and industrial garments.

Joey Underwood, Senior Vice President, Safety Components, expressed, “Marta displays an incredible passion for understanding and meeting customer needs in terms of support, sales and delivery requirements. Cooper Tires, Gary Sinise Foundation Donate Tires for Emergency Responder Vehicles

Tire donation to DeWitt Volunteer Fire Department

Since 1985, the first week of May has been nationally recognized as Public Service Recognition Week. It’s a week dedicated to honoring and celebrating the hard work of our nation’s public servants, including first responders.

Inspired by this week of recognition, which runs from May 5 –11 this year, Cooper Tires and the Gary Sinise Foundation (GSF) have teamed up to honor first responder sand give back to them with donations of new tires for their emergency vehicles. Cooper® and GSF are proud to recognize these brave men and women who demonstrate reliability during the toughest conditions

.First responders rely on a multitude of equipment to serve our communities and do their jobs, and with so many fire stations in the United States being volunteer stations, a donation of new, reliable tires that they can count on will help them meet the needs of their communities and stay safe while doing so.

Cooper® and GSF have selected three fire stations in need and are donating tires for one or two emergency vehicles per station, approximately 30 tires total.

The stations receiving the tires are as follows:

1. DeWitt Volunteer Fire Department in DeWitt, Nebraska

2. Russellville/Lohman Fire Department in Russellville, Missouri

3. Smith Mills Fire Department in Henderson, Kentucky

Ready Rack Two Gear Dryer

The Ready Rack Two Gear is manufactured with the highest quality materials, and is designed for ease of use and long-lasting durability. The overall design offers wide flexibility to both warm and dry a wide variety of items in the such as firefighting turnout gear, with a focus on the need to be able to dry items that cannot be dried using a traditional action tumble dryer. The cabinets are designed for many years of service with easy access to all major components for easy removal and installation of replacement parts, should the unit need to be repaired.

The unit features a simple-to-use touch-sensitive electronic control panel, which is located above the door. The control panel displays and controls temperature and run times. There are a total of five factory preset temperatures which can be selected. The control panel also displays the run time remaining when the unit is in operation.

A simple touch of the temperature pad on the control panel allows a total five preset drying temperature settings with associated LED light indicators. The five different drying settings are: Air Only (No Heat), Low (105°F), Medium (120°F), Normal (130°F) and High (150°F).

A simple touch of the HOUR and MIN pads on the control panel allows users to select the run time in 15 minute increments, with a maximum run time setting of 10 hours.

The unit requires a 120-V power source, using a single-phase 15-A breaker. They are shipped with a standard 12-foot long/three-prong electrical plug that can be plugged into a standard electrical outlet. The power cord is at the bottom center of the black panel and is 12 feet long.

One 1,200-W 120-V heating element delivers heat to the cabinet’s interior. The heating unit’s access and temperature of 150°F, with 70°F ambient room air temperature. The heating element is mounted to the heater using 20-guage cold rolled steel mounting brackets. The heater’s air outlet, also constructed of 20-guage steel, evenly distributes heated air throughout the interior of the cabinet.

The blower motor is bolted to the top frame under the unit’s top cover. An axel fan is utilized to blow an approximate mixture of 50 percent fresh/50 percent recirculated air across the heating element.

Ventilation is at the user’s discretion. However, the unit has a 4-inch diameter opening on the top of the cabinet, if ducted ventilation is desired by the user.

There is a 7.5- x 2-inch opening on the top of the cabinet, located 1¾”-3¾” from right sidewall and centered from the front to the back of the unit.

Model FDC2 has a white powder coat finish steel cabinet and door.
