Pasco (FL) Fire Rescue Investigating Suspicious Package at Fire Station

 
 
 

A hazmat team is trying to evaluate the package. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Old Plainfield (CT) Fire Apparatus Given New Life

 
 

Six months ago, the Plainfield Fire Department was contemplating getting rid of a mid-1990s-era rescue truck – one of three vehicles fire Chief Travis Irons determined wasn’t meeting the district’s needs anymore.  

“Between the cost of upkeep and inspections, we just didn’t need them anymore,” he said. “Right about that time, there was a shooting incident in town that brought in several different agencies and I thought wouldn’t it be great to have a centralized command post?”

After talking with police leaders, fire officials approved donating the rescue truck to the police department with the understanding they could use it for community events or large-scale emergencies.

Fire Apparatus Explodes in Luxembourg (Canada)

A fire truck burst into flames while fighting a fire in a field near Rue de Hamm, Luxembourg, on Thursday.

 

In dramatic footage released by a local news agency, the truck can be seen next to firefighters attempting to quell the field fire before ultimately getting engulfed itself. Shortly thereafter, the truck explodes in flame. Firefighters remained at the scene to put out the fires.

Abilene (TX) Fire Apparatus Catches Fire

 
 
 

Viewer-submitted video shows a Snyder Volunteer Fire Department truck fully engulfed in flames.  

No word if anyone has been injured, but police scanner traffic indicates the fire may have caused or be connected to a grass fire.

This fire could be threatening some mobile homes with large gas tanks, according to the scanner traffic.
