FDIC International 2019: Engage Exhibitors

At FDIC International 2019, Darley will have a wide variety of pumps on display from its popular Darley Davey mounted on the new Polaris PRO–XD up to 6,000 gpm industrial pumps. The company’s Flaim Trainer virtual reality firefighting training system might be a popular stop at the show. Darley has partnered with FLAIM Systems, an Australian-based VR company, to bring next-generation training solutions to first responders. Darley debuted its flagship product ,FLAIM Trainer™, to the North American market at the 2018 FDIC. FLAIM Trainer™ is a firefighter training simulator that provides an immersive virtual reality environment combined with realistic scenarios, patented haptics feedback system, heated PPE, and industry standard equipment, to provide a unique training experience.

The company will also have other products including “Clean Cab” solutions, safe water boxes, and a new low-price Odin CAFS: the Hornet. Darley’s CAFS demo truck features a Ford F550 with a Darley PSMC 1500/120-cfm CAFS.

The ODIN Hornet™ is the latest product in Darley’s CAFS line. This compact, lightweight, low-cost CAFS can deliver 80 gpm and 40 cfm at 100 psi.

Paul Darley, president and CEO of W.S. Darley & Co. offers this advice to firefighters who haven’t experienced the exhibit floor of FDIC International before: “Be sure to walk the show floor slowly and engage with the exhibitors. If you’re considering new equipment, don’t be shy about letting them know that you’re in the market. Some of the new innovative new products can be found in the smaller 10 x 10 booths, but don’t pass up the bigger booths like Darley. We’d love to have you stop by our booth (3721)."

FDIC 2019: Pay Attention to the Small Stuff

At FDIC International 2019, SVI Trucks returns with another “must-see” tandem-axle heavy rescue. This year, SVI will showcase Beaver Lane (NC) Fire-Rescue’s 26-foot truck, featuring a Resolve Specialty Space Saver SCBA filling station, a Command Light CL Series eight-head tower and OnScene Solutions cargo slides with compartment lighting. For a sneak peek, visit bit.ly/beaver-lane-1054.

According to SVI’s Bob Sorensen, “It’s always fun to look at the biggest, baddest trucks but, don’t forget to pay attention to the small stuff, too. Rescues come down to the equipment used day in and day out, and sometimes that small equipment isn’t as exciting as a new, shiny apparatus. But in the end, it’s about getting the job done, so browse the show with that in mind. Think about your department’s challenges and use the FDIC show floor to look for solutions.”

SVI Trucks will be at Booth 3311.

3MTM Gas Flame Detection Showcasing at FDIC International

With the acquisition of Scott Safety, Detcon, Oldham, Simtronics and GMI, 3M has become one of the largest manufacturers of gas and flame detection products. These global brands bring together more than 100 years of industry experience across a wide range of innovative gas and flame detection solutions. Today we are pleased to highlight three of our latest and most innovative gas detection solutions; our enhanced PS200 multi-gas monitor, our reusable Protégé Single Gas (SG) monitor, and our hand-held GT-Fire meter.

“These products, combined with the popular Protégé ZM, provide us with a comprehensive offering into the fire industry” said Nick Wood, Global Product Marketing Manager – Gas Detection at 3M. “Each product has a focused application of use and have been designed to support the safety needs of the fire fighters we are proud to serve.”

The PS200 is our most popular multi-gas detector and it now comes with some impressive product enhancement features. One such improvement is as a powerful new datalogging capacity that will enable users to capture all relevant calibration data within a 6-month period. This increased capacity improves access to relevant data over a longer time whilst enabling quicker decisions to be made. Another helpful addition is the new quick-press field calibration mode which will save fire fighters time by simplifying the field calibration process. Users will also be able to visualise STEL / LTEL readings on-screen and log these in our software package to improve compliance monitoring.

Lastly, we have added a bundle of user experience upgrades including a quick information press when off; configurable confidence beeps; and increased user control around calibration due dates, dead-band configurations, and resolution settings (H2S). These features combined will enhance performance; improve ease-of use; and importantly enrich the overall user experience.
