The Smyrna Fire Department will dedicate its replacement for fire station 2 at 10:30 a.m. April 13 at 642 Concord Road. This site is the same that was occupied by the city's oldest fire station for 43 years. The community is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by an open house along with activities for the children.

Through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, they're saving lives, specifically here on the Coast. The foundation recently announced they will award the Pascagoula Fire Department a grant valued at more than $30,000. Pascagoula FD will use these funds to purchase needed extrication equipment that is essential for them to perform at top-tier level.

Two Southbridge firefighters were taken to the hospital after a fire truck slammed into a utility pole during a training exercise. Video from the scene showed the damaged truck against a toppled utility pole. The firefighters' conditions were not immediately released. 

Investigators are working to determine the cause of a crash between a fire truck and pickup that killed a young couple and their infant son. The crash happened at a Phoenix intersection on Sunday morning.Police say the pickup driver, 20-year-old Kenneth Collins, was pronounced dead at the scene.
