The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Fayetteville (AR) School Bus Clipped by Fire Apparatus

No students were hurt in the incident.  

The bus was taking children on a field trip to the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale. The trip was delayed about 30 minutes while students were placed on another bus to continue their journey.

Teague (TX) VFD Receives Fire Apparatus

 
 

The truck will carry 500 gallons of water and 20 gallons of foam. The foam is a fire retardant that increases the effectiveness of water and can help to quickly extinguish a fire and limit damage. It is also equipped with front bumper spray nozzles that are controlled from inside the cab.  

Teague Fire Chief Jody Bodine said the four-wheel drive will be a great benefit when trying to reach fires on ranchlands and during floods when high-water rescue may be needed.

Eastern North Carolina Uses Donation to Purchase Fire Apparatus

Smithfield Foods, the world’s largest hog producer and pork processor, donated $150,000 to the Rose Hill Fire Department on Thursday. Now the department is able to purchase a 100-foot ladder truck.  

Established in 1939, the Rose Hill Fire Department serves the city of Rose Hill, within Duplin County. The station currently has 40 volunteer firemen and six vehicles in its fleet.
