IamResponding.com announced that John M. Buckman III has joined the IamResponding team as its new director of government and regional outreach. IamResponding is excited to have Chief Buckman join its team of emergency services professionals and looks forward to working with Chief Buckman to enhance its current product offerings, and to expand its current customer base of more than 7,500 emergency services entities.
Chief Buckman has served as a volunteer firefighter for 48 years, fire chief for 35 years, and association leader for more than 30 years. He is a past president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) from 2001-2001. He co-founded and served as chair of the volunteer and combination officers section of the IAFC from 1988 to 1996. Buckman is a co-founder of the National Fire Academy Alumni Association, where he served as secretary-treasurer from 1998 through 2014, and he was also the director of a fire and public safety academy training system for 15 years. He has authored more than 150 articles in various fire service journals, co-authored the 3rd Edition of Recruiting, Training and Maintaining Volunteer Fire Fighters, Lessons Learned from Fire Service Leaders, and is the editor of the Chief Officers Desk Reference.
