The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Georgia-Pacific Gives Owosso Township Fire Department Grant for Fire Equipment

Breathing masks shield firefighters' faces against heat, flames, smoke and debris, and enable them to see more clearly and breath clean air. And with a $4,000 grant award from manufacturer Georgia-Pacific, the Owosso Fire Department will be able to purchase 12 new masks to go with their self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBAs).
