XFDirect, over the past 12 months, has completed pilot testing and has now formally launched operations of its mobile application-based case management software for users to quickly create service cases from their mobile device for their out of service equipment, in their own language, which instantly connects to well-equipped, OEM-trained service teams for fast response.

XFDirect’s combination of mobile app interface with brick-and-mortar service capabilities, in a regional market where equipment dealers are typically not capable of supporting what they sell, has already gained rapid acceptance among fire departments across the region and leading manufacturers throughout the world.

The user-centric design is a truly disruptive platform and fills large gaps in the market that have left most well-known US and European brands with poor reputations in the region due to their lack of or prohibitively expensive after-sales support. The XFDirect team is now focusing its efforts on expanding geographic coverage, investing in physical service capabilities for the higher-spec needs of SCBAs and hydraulics, and digitizing equipment inventory at fire departments in the areas in which we operate. Bozeman, Montana—Acela Truck Company recently announced that it has expanded its purpose-built High Water/Flood Rescue Truck line of response apparatus to include multiple new custom body configurations and larger 6x6 models of its Monterra high mobility chassis.

Flooding is the leading cause of disaster or weather-related deaths in the United States and the number of coastal and inland flooding incidents are rising dramatically every year. 2017’s Hurricane Harvey was Houston’s third “500 year” flooding event in only the last few years, yet flood waters continue to stop most first responders in their tracks due to lack of proper equipment to adequately provide aid and safely protect responders.  All 50 states have experienced flooding in the last five years.

Earlier this year, Acela Truck Company, manufacturer of extreme-duty, commercial truck chassis, introduced specialized high-water rescue and response trucks to its line of Monterra 4x4 high mobility chassis. With 47-inch tires, 23 inches of ground clearance, all-wheel-drive, waterproof alternator and starter and proprietary high-water fording kit, Acela’s specialized flood rescue variants are capable of fording a whopping 50 inches of water. Monterras are additionally capable of safely responding at top highway speeds of 74 MPH making them perfectly suitable for long-distance response.
