The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Round Rock Fire Department Adding 2 Vehicles to Fleet

The Velocity PUC Pumper and Aerial Platform vehicles — at a cost of $725,454 and $1.3 million, respectively —are part of the Fire Department’s semiregular purchases to either add or replace vehicles serving the greater Round Rock area.

Herts Gets UK's Tallest Aerial Ladder

It's 45 metres tall... and the basket on the top can carry more firefighters or rescue more people than their old one.

They'll use it to rescue people from height, or as a water tower, and can even control it using bluetooth.

Rescue truck back in service in Pittsylvania County

With some small upgrades to the truck, and some additional training of the 30-member team assigned to it, the truck designated as Rescue One will be a specialized rescue and rapid intervention team for the southern end of the county.

And it will be done for 20 percent of the original asking price.
