The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

New Bristol (TN) Fire Station Near Pinnacle Retail Development Set To Open Soon

Battalion Chief Tommy Castle said the new station will provide faster response times for homes and businesses in the area.

“It’s going to be a huge plus for us, the response time is going to be cut, at least in half…our response to accidents in the section that falls in the city along I-81, will be just a couple of minutes,” Castle said.

Poquoson (VA) Council Approves New Fire Truck With Beach Project Money

They will take $125,000 allocated towards a Messet Point beach project and get the city the new fire engine.

"That engine we're replacing was manufactured in 1990, so it's approaching 30 years old," he said.

Replacing that 30 year old engine will cost about $300,000, but Councilman Cannella is confident they'll find money to cover the rest.

"The 125 is a substantial chunk of that and we can finance the rest and include that money in upcoming budgets," he said.
