Zico Launches Line of Brackets for Improved Tool Mounting

Zico Slotted Variable Mounts

Ziamatic Corp. (Zico) introduces Slotted Variable Mounts, a new line of brackets for the mounting of handheld tools, designed to provide improved flexibility and customization when laying out and mounting to 1”x1” tool board grids.

With their easy-to-use slotted bases, Slotted Variable Mounts eliminate the positioning restrictions of pre-drilled holes and increase total mounting options, even allowing for diagonal mounting—something difficult to do with “track” style boards.

“There wasn’t a lot you could do with tool and track boards. There was a rigidness there. You either mounted the tools horizontally or you mounted them vertically or maybe a little of both. The holes only lined up so many ways,” said Brian McGinty, Chief Engineer. “With our new Slotted Variable Mounts, it’s such a simple change, but one that I think can really open up the options for departments looking to get the best use of the space they’re given on the apparatus.”

Mount bases are solid cast aluminum that will not crack, break, or pull free from the wall like some vinyl brands. Flexible draw latches are thick, UV-stabilized rubber capable of withstanding time in harsh outdoor environments. Each draw latch secures a range of tool diameters.

Springdale Township repossesses truck from Allegheny Valley fire department

Firefighters stripped their gear — hoses, hand tools, extinguishers, fans, nozzles — from the 2001 Kenworth in preparation for turning it over to the township, company President Chuck Miller said.

Firefighters drained the truck of water before surrendering it to the township around 6:45 p.m. Friday. Assistant Chief Dennis Stiokis drove it the short distance up Pillow Avenue from their station to the township building.

No one from the township was there to accept the truck. Firefighters said they were told to lock it and drop the keys in the mail slot.

Metro (MS) Ambulance To Get 2 New Ambulances

Funds to purchase the new vehicles come from Metro’s budget, as it is a self-supporting, county entity, Metro Ambulance Director Clayton Cobler said.

“I can remember when we started out and we paid $32,000, and we thought that was ridiculous,” Cobler said.

The new vehicles will replace two in its current fleet of 18. The two taken out of service will likely be added to the county’s surplus property, Cobler said.

“We got five [ambulances] two years ago, and every one of them has over 200,000 miles on it,” Cobler said.

Cobler said Metro responds to an average of 90 emergency calls per day.

Over time, the price tag for each vehicle continues to increase beyond the initial cost of more than $70,000.
