Mayor: Lake George (NY) Could Share New Fire Apparatus with Warrensburg

Concerned about the projected cost of buying a new aerial firetruck as well as protecting public safety, Lake George Village officials are now considering sharing such a truck, complete with a 70-foot ladder, with neighboring Warrensburg. Lake George Mayor Robert Blais proposed the concept to the village board Nov. 20.

New Fire Apparatus for Milpitas (CA)

The Milpitas Fire Department's wish to replace its aging fleet of firefighting vehicles with newer ones has been granted. The City Council voted unanimously Nov. 7 to buy a Velocity fire engine and a Velocity fire truck with a 100-foot ladder from Wisconsin-based Pierce Manufacturing Inc., for a total amount up to $2,270,576.

IRAVFD gets Forestry fire truck, ICTC revamps it

Oklahoma Forestry Services recently donated a vehicle to Illinois River Area Volunteer Fire Department. It previously was a surplus military vehicle and was distributed to IRAVFD via Eastern Oklahoma Development District and Oklahoma Forestry.

Burlington Fire Truck Heading To Sister City, Soledad, Mexico

Burlington is preparing to send a ladder truck to its sister city, Soledad, Mexico.The Burlington City Council approved declaring a 1995 KME ladder truck as surplus property and adopted a resolution Nov. 21 authorizing the donation of the truck to Soledad.Soledad currently has one truck previously donated from Burlington, in 2010, and another truck from Charlotte.
