Oshkosh (WI) Fire Department Receives New Fire Equipment

Oshkosh firefighters have some new life-saving equipment to work with. The department was recently awarded a $7,000 grant. Oshkosh fire officials say the money allowed them to buy new life vests for ice and water rescues. It's something the department had been unable to do for the last 20 years.

Cobb (GA) Fire Department will Use $8 Million Rollover

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted recently to carry over $8 million of the Cobb Fire Fund's fund balance to the next budget year. Due to timing and personnel issues, several capital projects for the Cobb Fire and Emergency Services were not completed this year.

The major expenditure will be nearly $6.4 million to relocate Fire Station 17 to 3321 Ernest Barrett Parkway and the anticipated purchase and relocation of Fire Station 12.
