Changes in the works for another Horry County fire station

Published: AYNOR, SC (WBTW) - Horry County is looking to expand the old Aynor fire station on Jordanville Road. The building sits on less than two acres of land and is currently not in service. Ambulance service gets new rig

When the solar eclipse buzz finally began to abate last week, life returned to normal in the city of Perryville. School resumed, and working citizens reluctantly re-entered the drudging 9-5 cycle. Much more than just a fresh coat of paint

Upgrades designed to protect patients, EMTs Posted: New Castle-Henry County EMS, the local 9-1-1 response service, doesn't sit still very long. Whether they are headed to a call or adding new equipment to their arsenal of life-saving tools, the EMTs and paramedics are always moving forward.

The emergency medical service recently added two new four-wheel drive trucks to its fleet. The heavy-duty silver ambulances have a lot of new toys that are helping save lives.

“It’s pretty great,” said paramedic Brandon Bartholomew.

All four of the city’s advanced life saving ambulances are now outfitted with battery-operated “jaws of life” extrication tools. The new devices are less cumbersome to use and don’t require hoses and cables at a car accident scene.
