Drone-Launching Land Rover Concept Could Be Rescue Vehicle Of The Future

Automakers all seem to be in a rush to incorporate drones into their future vehicles. Land Rover, however, might have come up with the best reason yet to partner vehicles with drones. At the Geneva International Motor Show on Tuesday, Land Rover revealed Project Hero, a bespoke version of the Discovery SUV to be used by the Austrian Red Cross.

A New Truck for the Old Chief

Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company now has a new fire truck, Engine 601, thanks to a collaborative agreement with Loudoun County Combined Fire-Rescue System.

“It’s the only way we could do it,” said Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company Chief Jim Cook. “It’s logistically impossible for companies to afford these pieces all on our own.”
The arrangement is not unique. Fire officials say county funding of up to 59 percent of the cost of vehicles is available to the 15 volunteer companies, an average of $3 million annually.

St. Augustine Fire Department Rolls Brush 48 Into Station

The St. Augustine Fire Department took an afternoon to reflect past tradition while debuting the newest member of its firefighting fleet, Brush 48, with a old-time fire service "push-in" and "wet-down" ceremony at the department's Malaga Street station on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

New Fire Station in Corwith

Published: CORWITH, Iowa- A new fire station has recently opened in one local town. The Corwith Fire Department's new location has four bays that hold fire department trucks, as well as a separate bay for the EMT unit. Corwith Mayor Dave Wagner said the new station became possible because of the community's help.
