The Parker Fire Department on Saturday showed off its newest engine, a Rosenbauer quad cab purchased in May for $230,000. It is the department's first ever full-size fire truck.
“We get more manpower from the station to the location to be able to fight fires faster and more efficiently,” firefighter Shawn Pergande said Saturday while demonstrating the truck’s new features. “It’ll carry a lot more equipment.“It’s been a long time in the process, but it’s something that we really did need for the department.”

Fort Smith Firefighter, Missionary Donates Leftover Equipment To Guatemalan Fire Departments

FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Firefighters know all about helping those in need -- but sometimes it goes beyond rescuing people from burning buildings. Reed Whitson, a Fort Smith firefighter, found the perfect place to re-home some old firefighting equipment during his year-long mission trip to Guatemal...

“A couple weeks ago, with the help from the Fort Smith Fire Department, I was able to donate some fire gear to two different fire departments (states) in Guatemala. It brought with it some emotions for me as this was the first time in over a year that I have been around any firefighters. After being away from it over a year, I understand even better now the brotherhood that comes along with being a firefighter. I enjoyed talking and just being around other firefighters who, many, truly understand my experiences as a firefighter. To be able to talk and tell stories to ones who have actually experienced the same things is special. It’s a bond.

Thank you to the Guatemalan firefighters who were so appreciative. I was so glad to help and look forward helping again in the future. As long as the donations continue to come, we can help.

Hot Topic Donates $1.5K in Electronics to La Vergne Fire Station

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) - Everybody's favorite late 90s-early 2000s alternative clothing company just made a major donation to a local fire department. Hot Topic Tennessee Distribution Center donated over $1,500 in electronic equipment to the La Vergne Fire Station No. 2 on Waldron Road.

The donation will allow the department to utilize the recent addition of the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s traffic cameras on Interstate 24.

The fire station says it will increase their ability to accurately determine where an accident is located.

“The La Vergne Fire Department is thankful to have Hot Topic Tennessee Distribution Center as a neighbor and friend in the community,” fire officials said Friday.
