Henrico (VA) Fire Truck Stuck on Icy Interstate Overpass

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A Henrico fire truck got stuck on an icy overpass while responding a crash in eastern Henrico, according to police at the scene. The stuck fire truck blocked lanes on Interstate 295, near Interstate 64, in the East End.

Mamaroneck to Get New Fire Truck

A new firetruck with life-saving equipment for car accidents was ordered by the village at the end of December 2014 and is expected to be delivered in the spring. A new firetruck could be rumbling through the streets of Mamaroneck and making rescues on the highway by the spring.

The new pumper truck will come equipped with rescue tools for cutting and extrication that will make it a valuable asset for car accidents in the village and sections of Interstate 95 that fall under the village's jurisdiction, officials said.

Village Manager Rich Slingerland said the truck was ordered in December 2014 for nearly $940,000 and is expected to arrive in the village in the coming months.
