Putnam County's most modern fire truck arrives in Carmel

Fire Chief Vincent Ruggiero said the new tower ladder vehicle is equipped with a 100-foot rear mount ladder, a 2,000 gallon-per-minute pumper and a 400-gallon tank. He said the truck will be able to handle "any type of fire anywhere within the region."

A $1.3 million 2016 Ferrara fire truck rolled into Carmel Thursday evening for much fanfare. The vehicle, which replaces a 2000 American LaFrance truck, is now the premier firefighting vehicle of the Carmel Fire Department. Fire Chief Vincent Ruggiero said the new tower ladder vehicle is equipped with a 100-foot rear mount ladder, a 2,000 gallon-per-minute pumper and a 400-gallon tank.  He said the truck will be able to handle “any type of fire anywhere within the region.”

Oxford Donates a Fire Truck to a Vermont Fire Department | Patch

The town of Oxford donated a fire truck to the Corinth Fire Department in Vermont for no cost. The town retired the more than 25 year old fire engine that had been housed at the Riverside Fire Company. Two Corinth officers picked up the truck in Oxford on Thursday and drove it back to Vermont.

3 hurt in Orlando fire truck accident

A fire truck heading to a call on Curry Ford Road crashed during rush hour. Three people are recovering from their injuries, WESH 2 News has learned. "I thought it was the end of my life. I thought my life was over," said Brenda Gauvey, crash victim.

A fire truck heading to a call on Curry Ford Road crashed during rush hour. Three people are recovering from their injuries. The fire truck was headed to a call when it collided with at least one of the vehicles. The fire truck was damaged enough that it had to be towed away, along with two other vehicles involved.

$1.3M for fire trucks on ballot in Gorham

Posted: Thursday, February 4, 2016 2:41 pm Gorham voters in June will decide in a referendum whether to borrow up to $1,365,000 to replace a pair of the town's aging fire trucks. Town councilors Tuesday unanimously 7-0 agreed to ask voters for up to $515,000 for a new tank fire engine, replacing one the town bought in 1989.
