‘A knot in my stomach’: Downtown Snoqualmie fire damages, destroys several businesses

VIDEOS/PHOTOS: A building complex on Railroad Avenue Southeast, a busy main road in downtown Snoqualmie, caught fire Sunday morning at about 5:15 a.m. The building is home to Snoqualmie Ice Cream, Chickadee Bakeshop, Snoqualmie Pie Company and Littlest Wishes Photography, leaders of the City of Snoqualmie said.

Apartment fire in Ellensburg under investigation

An apartment at the Campus Village Apartments on the 900 block of E 18th Ave caught fire in the early hours of Sunday morning. According to Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue, at 1:50 a.m., firefighters headed to the scene of a second-floor apartment fire after several callers reported flames coming from the balcony.

One Colorado fire department has responded to a fire every 12 hours since April 1

VIDEO: The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) has responded to a significant fire every 12 hours since April 1, according to a new video posted by Ashley Franco, the Public Information Officer for CSFD. The video was posted to social media on Thursday, April 11 along with a warning from CSFD to homeowners to check around their homes for any fire hazards and to always have working smoke alarms.

New fire truck in North Carolina helps fight fires, the cancer-causing chemicals they cause

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Raleigh firefighters are adding a new truck to their fleet to help protect them from cancer-causing soot that can cling to skin and gear. Rehab 12 has several features to help protect firefighters, including a handwashing station. Battalion Chief Keith Wilder said it is ready to use as soon as an emergency arises.

FDNY required to give EMTs bulletproof vests under bill approved by New York City Council

VIDEO: New York City Council approved a bill Thursday requiring the FDNY to give bulletproof vests to EMTs. Supporters say it's necessary as threats against first responders intensify. Natasha Nembhard joined the FDNY first as an EMT and now as a paramedic in Brooklyn because she loves to help people.
