23 years after 9/11, World Trade Center Health Program expands to more Flight 93 first responders

VIDEO: On the day America marked 23 years since the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, more people who helped in the aftermath became eligible to enroll in the World Trade Center Health Program. The program expanded enrollment to include additional first responders who helped at the Flight 93 site and the Pentagon.

Three WSU students displaced by house fire on university's Greek Row in Pullman

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Three WSU students were displaced after their house caught fire on Wednesday afternoon, according to Pullman Fire Department. Around 3 p.m. on September 11, fire crews responded to reports of a house on fire near Howard Street and Opal Street, along WSU's Greek Row. When they arrived, firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from the roof of the house.

Spokane Fire Department firefighters honored for work in the community

VIDEO: On Wednesday, the Spokane Fire Department held an awards ceremony recognizing the brave work of their members in what they say is a new tradition for both them and their families. Spokane Fire Chief Julie O'Berg emceed the awards ceremony, honoring multiple firefighters with awards for their service, including firefighters Brennan Cooke and Clifford York, who received the Medal of Valor after responding to a deadly fire this year.

VIDEO: Massive strip mall fire in Massachusetts destroys multiple businesses

Multiple businesses in Lynnfield were destroyed Tuesday night when intense flames tore through a strip mall. The fire happened around 9 p.m. at the strip mall on Post Office Square. Daylight revealed significant damage to multiple businesses. Lynnfield Fire Chief Glenn Davis said most of the businesses will likely be a total loss.

Nearly 17K first responders are suffering cancers, diseases linked to 9/11 over two decades later

More than 45,000 people are living with the physical manifestations of the September 11 attacks more than two decades after the tragedy. At least 45,200 civilians and officers from the FDNY, NYPD and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are suffering from at least one cancer or disease that has been directly linked to the largest terrorist attack in history.
