The annual worldwide Great Shakeout earthquake drill is this Thursday, October 20th and starts at 10:20 AM PDT. The goal of the drill is to help save lives from an earthquake by practicing drop, cover and hold under a desk, table, or other sturdy items together as a group or individually.
Millions of people around the globe will again participate in this annual earthquake drill including families, businesses, schools, health care facilities, faith-based organizations, neighborhood groups and more.

Fire investigators are looking for a vehicle of interest connected to the Nakia Creek Fire that has prompted evacuations in Clark County.
On Monday afternoon, the Clark County Fire Marshal's Office said they were looking for a white or light-colored Subaru vehicle seen on video along a ridge near where the fire is burning on Larch Mountain, north of Camas.

After roughly a month of fighting the Bolt Creek Fire, crews could soon be departing the Cascades.
Incident Commander Leonard Johnson says they’ve reached a critical point in the firefight, just in the nick of time.
Once conditions are under control on the west side of Index, emergency management crews will begin to scale back.

A recent spell of dry and hot weather in western Washington has allowed several wildfires to pop up, impacting thousands of acres of land and initiating closures of certain roadways.
It’s already the middle of October, but fires continue to rage throughout western Washington, including a couple of fires in Skagit County that have increased in size over the hot weekend.
