Employee at Kirkland car dealership injured in a fire

An employee of a Kirkland car dealership was taken to Harborview Medical Center after being injured in a fire Monday evening. According to a release from the city, firefighters were called to Volkswagen of Kirkland at about 6 p.m. for a report of an explosion. An employee of the dealership was vaping in a designated smoking area, near some empty 55-gallon drum containers that had once contained flammable liquid, the release stated.

Nakia Creek Fire grows to 250 acres, Level 1 and 2 evacuation notices issued

Clark Regional Emergency Services sent out evacuation notices to about 110 homes that could be in danger due to the Nakia Creek Fire. Emergency services say a majority of the notices were Level 1 - Be Ready, while about 14 addresses fall under a Level 2- Be Set notice. As of Wednesday morning, no Level 3 - Go Now notices have been issued.

Fire guts motorhome in Wenatchee’s Olds Station

A motorhome was destroyed in a fire early Monday morning in Wenatchee’s Olds Station. Wenatchee Valley Fire Department spokeswoman Kay McKellar said the fire on Technology Center Way near Chester Kim Road was reported just before 6 a.m. She said there were explosions reported from the motorhome and a nearby tree was also ignited.

Staff, first responders deal with emergency situation at Yakima hospital

Medical staff, security, and first responders addressed an emergency situation around 10 a.m. at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital on Monday, October, 10. According to a press release, a patient smoked an unknown substance in their room. Staff quickly checked all rooms to confirm that no patients were affected as first responders cleared and ventilated the area.

Officials estimate Bolt Creek Fire won’t be fully contained until end of October

A section of U.S. Highway 2 reopened Monday evening.
