Brush Fires Continue To Keep Everett Firefighters Busy

Brush fires are happening with more frequency inside the Everett, Washington city limits as this dry spell continues into the Fall season. Thursday afternoon crews ran more than 400 feet of wildland hose into thick brush in an area southwest of Horizon Elementary School after reports of a column of smoke seen from the woods.

Dive Rescue Training Turns into Real Life Rescue for Emergency Responders in Spokane County

On Wednesday, members of the Spokane County Sheriff's Emergency Operations Team and other trainees attending a Dive Rescue training found themselves involved in a real-life rescue on the Spokane River near Boulder Beach. At approximately 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Team members, Boise City Fire, and Seattle City Fire first responders were attending Dive Rescue 2 training.

Air quality will remain low as wildfire smoke lingers in Puget Sound this weekend

Usually by this time in October we're embracing the rain and all things fall but this October, one of the warmest on record, we're still worried about wildfires and smoke. While the forecast is for sunny skies, wildfire smoke will dominate the skies over much of the Puget Sound area through the weekend.

New Fire Engine Delivered to Grady County (GA) Fire And Rescue

Grady County Fire and Rescue has a new addition to its fleet, WFXL.com reported.

On a post made to the department’s Facebook page, Grady County Fire and Rescue said that this is the first, brand new engine that the county has ever bought, the report said.

The 2023 Pierce Freightliner will replace the current 1986 Sutphen, which has served the community for more than 20 years, according to the report.

The new engine is equipped with a 1,250-gallons-per-minute Darley pump and carries 1,000 gallons of water versus the 500 gallons on the current fire engine.
