Volkswagen to recall 261,000 cars to fix pump problem that can let fuel leak and increase fire risk

Volkswagen is recalling more than 261,000 cars in the U.S. to fix a potential fuel leak that can increase the risk of fires. The recall covers certain Audi A3s and VW Golfs and GTIs from the 2015 through 2020 model years. Also included are 2015 through 2019 Golf Sportwagens, and 2019 and 2020 VW Jettas.

Crews put out smoldering fire at Seattle’s Space Needle

A small fire burned inside Seattle’s iconic Space Needle Friday morning. X posts from the Seattle Fire Department started at 4:24 a.m., saying there was a fire in a high rise in the 400 block of Broad Street. The fire broke out in an elevator control room at the top of the Space Needle, according to Seattle Fire spokesperson David Cuerpo.

Spokane paramedics have new tool to help people recover from drug overdose

Paramedics in Spokane have a new tool when it comes to helping people recover after a drug overdose. When a person is given Narcan and revived from an overdose, they immediately go into a painful withdrawal. Anne Raven, integrated medical services manager at Spokane Fire Department, says the withdrawal includes symptoms like horrible muscle aches, diarrhea, vomiting, sweating, tearing and runny nose.
