A dream became a reality Monday for one brave 7-year-old in Hanover County.
Javi Guzman anxiously waited for his Make-A-Wish day for months due to the pandemic. Now, he is officially sworn in as the newest and youngest addition to the Hanover County firehouse.
“He’s been waiting for this day to come,” his mom, Amy Guzman said.

An employee of a Kirkland car dealership was taken to Harborview Medical Center after being injured in a fire Monday evening.
According to a release from the city, firefighters were called to Volkswagen of Kirkland at about 6 p.m. for a report of an explosion.
An employee of the dealership was vaping in a designated smoking area, near some empty 55-gallon drum containers that had once contained flammable liquid, the release stated.

Clark Regional Emergency Services sent out evacuation notices to about 110 homes that could be in danger due to the Nakia Creek Fire.
Emergency services say a majority of the notices were Level 1 - Be Ready, while about 14 addresses fall under a Level 2- Be Set notice. As of Wednesday morning, no Level 3 - Go Now notices have been issued.
