The city of Jacksonville is building a new fire station on the Westside, WOKV.com reported.

A ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday for the official news of the future Fire Station 75 at Wilson Boulevard and Firestone Road, the report said.

Mayor Lenny Curry and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department will be part of the ceremony, according to the report.

The Jacksonville (FL) Fire Rescue Department opened Station 74 in July. Jacksonville has a Class 1 insurance rating and is the largest department in the world with the top rating, according to the report.

When firefighters are sent to fight wildfires in other states, you might think that’s exactly what they are doing. But it’s not always the case. They often help doing many other things. For example, when two Kitsap County firefighters went to Oregon recently, they ended up feeding livestock and protecting homes because the town’s residents had been evacuated.

A massive fire erupted at a former bank building in Boyle Heights and authorities say a person of interest is being interviewed. The blaze was reported at around 1:30 p.m. at a vacant, single-story structure located at 1308 S. Soto St, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
