VIDEO: A potentially lifesaving gift is being delivered to Buffalo Firefighters courtesy of an organization with strong ties to the department.
In March 2023, Buffalo Firefighter Jason Arno died while battling a four-alarm fire on Main Street in Downtown Buffalo.
Since Arno’s tragic death, a foundation set up in his name, the Firefighter Arno Memorial Foundation (FAM), has been working to improve lives in the communities he served.

AT&T and the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) announced the next phase of FirstNet with a series of investments totaling more than $8 billion over 10 years.
This next phase will create a 5G standalone (SA) core and support the transition of public safety’s Band 14 spectrum from LTE to 5G.

PHOTOS: A Valley fire department on Monday launched a documentary that invites viewers on a nostalgic journey, chronicling the evolution of its department from its humble beginnings to its current stature.
The 45-minute documentary, “Flash Point: The History of Peoria Fire-Medical Department,” includes stories from current Fire Chief Gary Bernard and eight retired firefighters, who shared memories from their experience during the rise of the department.

In a heartwarming celebration of heritage and community spirit, the North Twentymile Lookout, a century-old beacon nestled in the heart of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, has been given a new lease on life. This June, the lookout marked its 100th anniversary with a series of repairs and a fresh coat of paint, thanks to the joint efforts of the Methow Valley Forest Fire Lookout Association (MVFFLA) and the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.

The Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) announced they received a $20,000 grant from State Farm to help prevent local wildland fire risks.
This grant is part of the 2024 Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Fuels Reduction Program and will “look to help build a more comprehensive and sustainable wildfire mitigation program.
