Naches Fire Department Receives New Equipment

The Naches Fire Department was one of numerous fire crews in Yakima County to receive medical devices through ARPA funds. 30 fire departments in Yakima County, including Naches, received a 'Lucas Three Device'. According to their Facebook page, they received the new equipment through a grant application by the Yakima County department of emergency medical services and director Tony Miller.

Bill preparing state for future wildfires moves quickly through legislature

Woman rescued after falling into a 40-foot hole in Mabton

Firefighters rescued a woman who fell into a 40-foot hole in Mabton early Wednesday morning, according to a Yakima County Fire District 5 post on Facebook. The woman was moving wood with someone when the ground gave way, resulting in the woman falling into the hole. The property owner wasn’t aware of the hole, the fire district said.
