VIDEO: The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department (MFRD) showed off some brand new vehicles today.
Four firetrucks and three ambulances joined the MFRD’s fleet along with two special additions... a hydration truck and training trailer. The hydration unit is a response to high temperatures.

VIDEO: An armed robbery and standoff inside a Kitsap County home ended in a destructive house fire Sunday night.
According to police, the suspect carjacked a couple before barricading himself inside the home on Harlow Road near Sunnyhill Road around 6:30 p.m. After attempting to escape, the suspect is now in police custody and the house is a complete loss as a result of the fire.

The excitement was palpable when nine new “chiefs” posed for portraits during the Chief for a Day event July 14 at Fort Walla Walla Park.
Each of the young chiefs wore full uniforms representing a local emergency services agency and stood alongside the chiefs, said Walla Walla Police Department Crime Prevention Coordinator Vicki Ruley in a release.

Firefighters responding to a call in Finley on Sunday found two separate fires. Due to “very high” fire danger conditions, the two fires rapidly spread, combining to burn 115 acres, according to a social media post from Benton County Fire District #1. At about 10:48 p.m. firefighters arrived on scene at South Meals Road and Ayers Road in Finley to find the separate fires burning in the brush and grass.

The Nile-Cliffdell Fire Department, Yakima County's Fire District #14, is asking the community for their help to ensure their current levy is restored in the upcoming election.
Proposition 1 on the August 2nd ballot is a restoration of the current levy that helps fund fire district #14 to allow them to continue to provide life-saving services.
