Follow Up: Woman Bites Officers, Man Assaults Firefighter in Walla Walla

According to Walla Walla Police and KVEW-TV, a firefighter battling a house fire late July 4 evening was hit by a man. Remember that home we told you about on Glen Erin Drive that sustained over $150K in fireworks damages? According to KVEW-TV, 51-year-old Jason Wilke of Walla Walla tried to re-enter the burning home and hit a firefighter in the head.

REV Group Announces Senior Director Global Sourcing and Supply Chain for REV Ambulance Division

REV Group, Inc., announces Rudy Simmons has joined as Senior Director Global Sourcing and Supply Chain for REV Ambulance Division which includes Wheeled Coach®, Road Rescue®, Horton®, AEV® and Leader® emergency vehicle brands.  Simmons will report directly to Rob Vislosky, Chief Supply Officer, with matrix reporting to Anoop Prakash, REV Ambulance Division President.

In addition to managing the Ambulance Division supply side, Simmons will lead the spend management across several key categories such as medical equipment, hardware, flooring, HVAC, wheels, tires and support metals and body build sourcing.

Prior to joining REV Group, Simmons was Senior Director, Global Sourcing at Autocar Trucks, where he was responsible for leading multi-product platforms of specialty truck vehicles that included EV (electric vehicles), Diesel, and turbo-powered units.  In addition to previously working at REV Group from 2012 to 2017, Simmons held positions with FreightCar, Danaher, APEX Tool, and Eaton Corporation in global supply chain leadership, category leadership, quality management, plant management and materials management.

Simmons is APICS CPIM certified and a Certified Quality Engineer from ASQ and holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from Clemson University.

VIDEO: Fourth of July fireworks explosion caught on video as adults, kids run for cover

A fireworks explosion in front of a suburban home during the July Fourth holiday that caused young children and adults to flee was caught on security video. The blast occurred during a celebration as they were attempting to light fireworks on a front lawn. As the fireworks light up, a blast is seen going in all directions, prompting adults to grab the children and move for cover.

Florida fire rescue's new truck weighs 90,000 pounds, is 47 feet long and holds 500 gallons of water

PHOTOS: Just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dan Naughton stood atop a 6,000-pound truck holding a bucket of water. Moments earlier, it had been filled by firefighters from the hose of a smaller truck. Naughton faced the crowd beneath him, and slowly emptied the bucket into the truck’s 500-gallon tank. As the last droplet trickled out, onlookers cheered, and Naughton – a Palm Beach County Fire Rescue driver – smiled back.
