South Carolina firefighter opens up about cancer battle as part of Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month

A Horry County Fire Rescue firefighter is opening up about his cancer battle as part of Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month. It’s aimed at helping departments educate on ways to prevent cancer and what can be done if you are diagnosed. The American Cancer Society said cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths among firefighters.

Fundraising hockey face-off: Tri-Cities police and firefighters gear up for good cause

Fire at Evergreen Memorial Gardens does serious damage to east Vancouver funeral home

A Thursday night fire did serious damage to Evergreen Memorial Garden Cemetery and Funeral Chapel in east Vancouver, though there were no injuries. The crematorium caught fire about 8:40 p.m. According to the Vancouver Fire Department, firefighters arrived to the funeral home at 1101 N.E. 112th Ave.
