Hawaii county reports helicopter crash with 6 passengers, two in serious condition

According to Hawaii County officials, a tourism helicopter reportedly crashed in a lava field near South Point on Wednesday. K&S Helicopters who operates Paradise Helicopters said the incident happened at about 5:29 p.m. while their aircraft, a Bell 407, was operating a tour. Preliminary information said that five passengers and one crew member were onboard.

Port Angeles Fire Department tackles residential structure fire

PHOTOS: Around 12:25 a.m. on June 8, Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue responded to a residential structure fire that was spreading to the primary residence. Elwha police arrived at 4423 Dry Creek Road and reported a shed and attached carport on fire. The first arriving fire units requested aid from the the Port Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters battle Juniper Dunes Wilderness fire from the sky north of Pasco

A burning Jeep sparked what had grown to a 10-acre fire in the Juniper Dunes Wilderness Area on Wednesday evening. Franklin County Fire District 3 was called out to the Juniper Dunes off-road vehicle area around 3:44 p.m. after a Jeep caught fire, said Chief Mike Harris. The Juniper Dunes Wilderness covers more than 7,000 acres north of Pasco in Franklin County, and is divided between an open recreational area, the wilderness acreage and an area of critical habit.

Spokane Valley family safely escapes house fire

A family of six safely escaped a house fire in Spokane Valley Wednesday night. The fire started under a desk in the basement of a home on E. 22nd. An owner tried to put it out with a garden house, but the fire grew. Two adults and four children were able to get out of the home while fire crews arrived.

Northwest (TX) Fire Department Donates Tanker to Beech Grove

The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department announced that Tuesday it took delivery of a 3,000-gallon tanker donated from the Northwest Volunteer Fire Department:

“Members of the Beech Grove VFD traveled to Northwest Volunteer Fire Department in Harris County this morning to accept the donation of a 3,000-gallon tanker truck.

“Northwest VFD and Harris County ESD 20 selected the Beech Grove VFD as the recipient of the donation of the 1994 Freightliner/KME 3,000 gallon tanker, refurbished in 2015.
