Firefighters with the Holmdel (NJ) Fire & Rescue Company No. 2 recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new station and a push-in for a new apparatus for the new facility, according to a report published by the web site Tapinto.

The web site reported the new $4.2 million station was completed just in time for International Firefighter Day and features a bright red exterior and drive-thru capabilities.

Shortly after the building dedication celebrations, the department hosted a traditional wet-down and push-in for a new 2021 Pierce Enforcer engine, according to the report.

City and fire officials in Watertown (NY) are frustrated with supply chain issues that are causing delays in getting three new fire apparatus on the road, according to a report published by the Watertown Daily Times and NNY 360.

According to the report, the fire engine manufacturer is expecting to take 515 days to manufacturer and deliver a new apparatus to replace one at the State Street fire station, according to the newspaper report, that also reported the cost of the engine had increase from $620,000 to $785,000.

A $1.39 million aerial that is also on order won’t be delivered until 2024, the paper reported, adding that the manufacturers have said that COVID-19, staffing, inflation and supply chain issues are all factors in the delivery delays and price increases.

Gloucester (MA) has contracted to purchase two new fire engines and an ambulances with a price tag of $2.4 million, according to a report published by the Gloucester Daily Times.

The newspaper reported the city council voted unanimously to enter the contract without delay to avoid being hit with an anticipated $110,000 price increase.

The engine will take about 20 months to complete and the ambulance will take about 500 days, according to the newspaper.

The new apparatus will allow the city to retire some older units and maintain a fleet of six apparatus, according to the report.
