VIDEO: Massive 2-alarm fire destroys Texas commercial building

PHOTOS: A massive 2-alarm fire destroyed a commercial building in a matter of minutes in Downtown San Antonio near the Bexar County Pretrial Services building. The fire started just before 7 a.m. Wednesday at a huge commercial building off Buena Vista Street near South Comal Street. Aerial footage shows the building fully engulfed in flames with the roof and several walls collapsing.

Fire truck crashes in Illinois, no serious injuries reported

VIDEO: Three Belleville firefighters were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after their fire truck was involved in a crash and flipped onto its side. It all happened at Route 161 and Carlyle Avenue, right by Belleville East High School. The good news is that nobody was seriously hurt. The bad news is that there is significant damage to both the fire truck and the Toyota 4Runner, which was also involved in the crash.

Coast Guard previews public hearing on deadly 2023 cargo ship fire in New Jersey

VIDEO: There's new information about July's deadly cargo ship fire in Port Newark, as the Coast Guard previewed Wednesday's public hearing. Firefighters 45-year-old Augusto Acabou and 49-year-old Wayne Brooks Jr. were killed when a massive fire overtook an Italian cargo ship in Port Newark on July 5, 2023.

A Look Back: An explosion in bitter cold headlined a tragic day for one Missouri fire department

PHOTOS: On Jan. 10, 1962, all the talk was about bitter cold. At 3 p.m., with the temperature only 4 degrees, Carson Crocker was cutting a customer's hair at 702 Chouteau Avenue. Police officer Kenneth Jones tried to stay warm in his patrol car one block away. Major Nesbit worked inside the Ralston Purina feed mill that towered over the neighborhood just south of downtown.

Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue considers raising levy rate back up

Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue officials say additional staffing is needed to keep up with higher call volumes. Calls for CKFR have been on the rise – increasing 35% in the last five years. In 2022, the district responded to 11,062 calls, of which 67% were for emergency medical services. Revenue, however, is not keeping up with the demand for and costs to provide such services.
