2 children, 1 adult taken to hospital after Lakewood apartment fire

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Two children and one adult were taken to the hospital after a fire in the Tillicum neighborhood of Lakewood on Wednesday. West Pierce Fire and Rescue (WPFR) said it received a call around 11:30 a.m. about an apartment fire on Washington Avenue. Firefighters entered the apartment and rescued two children from the fire.

'Fill the Helmet’ auction, dinner to benefit Bucoda mayor and firefighter Rob Gordon

Bucoda mayor, volunteer firefighter, truck driver and ranch owner Rob Gordon was recently diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. On Dec. 17, in honor of the jack-of-all-trades, Skookumchuck Odd Fellows Lodge No. 129, Bucoda Rebekah Lodge No. 144, Trinity (Napavine) Rebekah Lodge No. 179, Bucoda Improvement Club, Bucoda Firefighters Association and the Tenino Fire Department are “banding together,” according to a news release.

Columbia Basin Tech gets fire engine for fire science class courtesy of Moses Lake Fire Department

PHOTO: There’s a tradition in the fire service when a new piece of apparatus is added to the fleet, and students at Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center followed that tradition Wednesday morning. The city of Moses Lake and the Moses Lake Fire Department are allowing the use of a reserve MLFD fire engine by students in the skills center’s new fire science class.

VIDEO: Massive 5-alarm fire in New York rips through 7 businesses, leaving at least 1 person injured

PHOTOS: A raging 5-alarm fire raced through a row of Bronx businesses early Wednesday morning, leaving at least one person injured. The blaze broke out at Bunny’s Deli Cold Cut City at West 231st Street and Broadway in the Kingsbridge section just before 3:30 am, the FDNY said. Two dozen videos uploaded to Citizen App showed huge flames and plumes of thick black smoke shooting into the air, and a crowd of firefighters battling the inferno both from the street level and from tower ladders.

Battalion chief says loss of Tennessee fire station ‘unnerving’ as firefighters continue their work

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Saturday’s tornado left scattered supplies and a destroyed station for the Gibson County Fire Department in Rutherford. Though grateful for no casualties, John Baker, the Battalion Chief for the Gibson County Fire Department, calls the destruction unnerving. Damaged equipment is being gathered for inventory and assessed for usability.
