The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is excited to announce the release of our new resource for fire service families. What to Expect: A Guide for New Firefighter Families (Second Edition) is designed to help new fire and EMS recruits along with their spouses/significant others, children, parents, siblings, and other family members make the adjustment to the volunteer fire service lifestyle.

Indiana man goes from burn victim to firefighter, crediting burn camp

VIDEO: For John Sego it's a job he never thought he'd get into. "Honestly the younger me would be surprised, but I am sure he would be proud," Sego said. Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue: Person falls 40 feet into blackberry bushes in Silverdale

A person was taken to the hospital after falling 40 feet into blackberry bushes in Silverdale. On Wednesday, crews from Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue answered a call from a person who fell into blackberry bushes in the 9000 block of Northwest Anderson Hill Road. When crews arrived, they located the person down the hill but were unable to reach the person without using a rig to lift the person.
