Ohio fire station undergoing emergency masonry project to avoid ‘catastrophic failure’

Alarm of a different kind is what the Parma Heights Fire Department discovered late last year leading to emergency construction work at the Pearl Road fire station. “The fire station was inspected by a qualified construction company,” Parma Heights Fire Chief Matt Bernard said. “It was under their recommendation that the building’s structural integrity needed to be addressed before a catastrophic failure.

Landslide near Auburn slams through retaining wall on Highway 18, westbound lanes closed

Crews have reopened one lane of a highway after a landslide near Auburn. The slide blocked off both westbound Highway 18 lanes between Highway 167 and Weyerhaeuser Way. Anyone who was trying to go westbound is being forced off to find another route. The Valley Regional Fire Department posted a photo of the debris, which is shown coming down through the retaining wall and onto the roadway.

Follow Up: Department of Ecology monitoring Sunnyside Nutrien Ag fire effects

The Washington Department of Ecology is monitoring the effects from a fire at Nutrien Ag in Sunnyside on Monday night. Sunnyside Fire Chief Ken Anderson said it wasn’t long after workers at Nurtrien Ag Solutions discovered a smoldering pile of sulfur. “Due to the smoke, they were unable to extinguish the fire themselves.

Loves Park (IL) Getting Third Fire Station

Loves Park is getting a new fire station following city council approval at Monday’s meeting, which can be seen above.

Council approved the $1.5 million sale for the old Service King building on Rock Valley Parkway.

The city currently has two fire stations: the Grand Avenue facility and the Windsor Road building.

Tacoma woman to spend 5 years in prison for setting fire to SPD vehicles during 2020 protest

A 26-year-old Tacoma woman was sentenced to five years in prison on Tuesday, after setting fire to five Seattle police vehicles during a downtown protest in late May of 2020. Margaret Aislinn Channon was caught on video footage using fire and aerosol cans to light five Seattle Police Department vehicles on fire during a spring 2020 protest turned riot.
