CDC COVID tracker: Updated map shows community level in your county

If you’re wondering what the community level of COVID-19 is in your area, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has an updated map that makes the latest data easy to see. The U.S. COVID-19 Community Levels by County map covers all U.S. States and territories and breaks down the level of spread on a per-county basis.

Man rushed to hospital after flames fully engulf Kennewick house

Two people are displaced after their house in Kennewick erupted in flames Sunday night. Multiple fire agencies responded to a structure fire in the 6000 block of S Yew St in Kennewick just after 7:30 p.m. Fire officials said two people, a man and his daughter, were inside the home at the time of the fire, but made it out safely.

Tapachula International Airport in Mexico Takes Delivery of Oshkosh Striker 4×4 ARFF Vehicle

OSHKOSH, WIS. (February 28, 2022) – Oshkosh Airport Products, LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) Company, announced today the Tapachula International Airport (TAP), located in Tapachula, Chiapas, in southern Mexico has taken delivery of an Oshkosh Airport Products Striker® 4×4 ARFF vehicle. The new fire apparatus was purchased through dealer ATEPSA located in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico and delivered in February 2022. It is the newest addition to the Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) operated airport.

“We have enjoyed an incredible relationship with ASUR the last 20 years, and our team is proud their fleet is made up entirely of Oshkosh Airport Products ARFF vehicles,” said Eduardo Palacio, Manager, ATEPSA. “The TAK-4® independent suspension, which is unique to the Striker 4×4, is a great addition to an already amazing emergency truck. Also, the wide field of view and the user-friendly controls are customer favorites.”

  • 50-foot (15.2 meters) Snozzle® High Reach Extendable Turret (HRET) with FLIR camera
  • Acceleration of 0-50 mph (0-80 kmh) in under 25 seconds
  • 375 / 750 gpm (1419 / 2839 lpm) roof turret
  • 300 gpm (1136 lpm) bumper turret

ASUR operates nine airports in the southeastern region of Mexico and serves approximately 23 million passengers annually. There are currently over one hundred Oshkosh Airport Products emergency vehicles at airports throughout Mexico.

Firefighters quickly extinguish house blaze in Otis Orchards on Sunday afternoon

A fire in an unoccupied home off Arden Road in Otis Orchards was quickly doused by Spokane Valley firefighters on Sunday. A neighbor saw smoke and flames coming from the home in the 3400 block of North Arden Road around 2:30 p.m., according to a news release. A dozen fire units responded to the fire, which burned a corner of the building.

Good Samaritan saves South Puget Sound family from burning home

A good Samaritan has been credited with saving a South Sound family from a fire engulfing their home. The father is in critical condition, while his daughter is also hospitalized after a fire tore through their home on 9th Avenue Court South in Parkland. Everyone else got out safely. Firefighters credit an alert neighbor for the rescue.
