Seattle Fire employee’s car stolen from fire station

A Seattle Fire employee’s car was stolen while he was on duty at the station, Seattle police said. The employee parked his car across the alley from the station Feb. 14 around 10:13 p.m. While he was working, he heard his car turn on and went outside to look. He then saw someone trying to steal his car, police said.

Spokane firefighters extinguish fire at Waste-to-Energy Facility

Spokane firefighters responded to a fire at the Waste-to-Energy Facility on Geiger Blvd Wednesday evening. According to Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer, a trash fire began in the processing area of the building just before 5:30 p.m. The building's fire suppression and ventilation system helped keep the fire contained to the area.

Firefighters contain greenhouse fire near Sequim

Firefighters responded late Wednesday morning to a greenhouse fire northwest of Sequim. Clallam County Fire District 3 crews arrived around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 to the 100 block of Ware Court off Heath Road to find the approximately 30-feet-by-20-feet greenhouse ablaze in the northwest corner of a home’s property.

No one injured in Spokane garage fire

A large garage fire near Mullan Road Elementary has been mostly contained. The fire started to creep into the adjacent home, but firefighters were able to stop it before it got too far. Crews from District 8, Spokane Fire and Spokane Valley Fire all responded to help. No one was injured.

Ground-Breaking Ceremony Held for Riviera Beach (FL) Fire Department’s $17M Station 88

Ground was broken Tuesday for the Riviera Beach (FL) Fire Department’s $17 million Station 88, which will be located at 1920 W. Blue Heron Blvd.

The facility will be a two-story, 31,000-square-foot, cutting-edge station that features new technology and equipment.

“City Council approved Resolution 01-22, which makes available $20 million to facilitate the commencement of construction on Fire Station 88,” the city’s website says. “Construction activities will commence in early March of 2022 and take approximately 14 months.”
