One person, 2 dogs found dead after fire inside Tacoma apartment

Firefighters found one person dead inside a Tacoma apartment following a fire there early Wednesday. At 12:41 p.m., Tacoma Fire crews were dispatched to the apartment building in the 6300 block of North 26th Street after receiving reports of a fire there. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming out of a first-floor unit of the two-story building.

Yakima Fire Department names new Deputy Chief

The Yakima Fire Department has named a new Deputy Fire Chief. Chris Hutsell started in his new position in May, according to YFD. Prior to joining YFD he spent 25 years with the Kennewick Fire Department and served as Deputy Chief with Kittitas County Fire District 7. “It is exciting to have Chris on board as Deputy Fire Chief,” said Fire Chief Aaron Markham.

300-acre Pioneer Fire near Chelan may have started as structure fire, officials say

VIDEO: Level 3 Evacuation orders were issued Sunday in the Rex Creek area of Lake Chelan due to a wildfire that has grown to 300 acres, according to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The DNR responded to the Pioneer Fire located approximately 31 miles northwest of Chelan near the east shore.

PHOTOS: A suspect believed to have shot a man at a downtown Miami apartment complex and ignited a 3-alarm fire that engulfed the building has been taken into custody, authorities said Monday evening. Miami Police confirmed the identity of the suspect in the shooting and fire at the Temple Court Apartments as 73-year-old Juan Francisco Figueroa.
