Bailout Systems is the brainchild of retired Navy diver Michael Ragsdale, who along with mechanical engineer Ben Krupp, have come up with something the size of a hockey puck.

1 killed, 2 hurt when fire breaks out in van in Pierce County

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was killed and two others injured when a fire broke out early Monday while the three were inside a parked van in Pierce County, authorities said. Firefighters were called to the vehicle, which was at 92nd Street and Tacoma Way, in Lakewood shortly after 4 a.

Man uninjured after jumping from roof to escape a house fire in Silverdale

A Central Kitsap homeowner who jumped from his roof was uninjured after he escaped a blaze early Friday morning that burned the home near the shore of Hood Canal, according to Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue. A neighbor first called 911 to report the house fire, according to CKFR, prompting firefighters to be dispatched to the 16000 block of Olympic View Road NW in Silverdale at about 2:16 a.

Man sleeping in Pasco dumpster tossed into garbage truck; requires rescue

PHOTO: Pasco firefighters successful rescued a middle-aged man from a garbage truck after he was trapped inside for several minutes. The call for this rescue was at 6:13 AM at Stevens Middle School on 22nd Avenue. According to firefighters, a man in his 20s was sleeping in a dumpster outside of Alberton's on 20th Avenue when he was tossed into the back of the garbage truck.
