North Carolina fire chief restores vintage fire truck for fallen firefighters', first responders' 'last alarm'

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire chief restored a vintage fire truck for fallen firefighters' and first responders' "last alarm." The chief, from Goldsboro, North Carolina, told WNCT that he wanted to build and maintain the vehicle so that it could be used in funeral processions. "Our goal is to build and maintain a funeral coach for firefighters and first responders, and to do that, we've obtained an antique firetruck that hopefully we can rebuild and restore into an appropriate transport for firefighters on their last alarm," Sean Quinby, the founder of Last Alarm Foundation of North Carolina and fire chief at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, told the station.

Follow-up: Ron Roy Honored for 50 Years to the Wenatchee Valley Fire Service

PHOTOS: A 50 year veteran of the fire service in the Wenatchee Valley was remembered for his leadership, dedication, kindness and advocacy for volunteer firefighters. Wenatchee Valley Fire Division Chief Ron Roy passed away in July at 68, after battling leukemia. Roy received full fire service honors at Wenatchee Convention Center on Saturday.

2-alarm apartment building fire in Seattle leaves all residents temporarily displaced, causes $100K in damages

PHOTO: An intentionally set 2-alarm fire in an apartment building in Seattle’s Westlake neighborhood left all of its residents temporarily displaced and caused an estimated $100,000 in damages Saturday morning. Seattle Fire Department’s (SFD) Fire Alarm Center received 911 calls with reports of a fire in a four-story apartment building in the 2000 block of Dexter Ave.

Federal Way Jack-in-the-Box goes up in flames after driver crashes into it

VIDEO: A Federal Way Jack-in-the-Box went up in flames after a driver crashed into the restaurant early Friday morning. The accident happened at a location on Pacific Highway South and South 312th Street just after 1 a.m. The driver in the incident was fleeing from a traffic stop at the time it crashed into the restaurant, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
