Sheriff’s department investigating theft of nearly 100 fire hydrants in one California county this year

Authorities are investigating the theft of nearly 100 fire hydrants in Los Angeles County this year, sheriff’s officials said Monday. Some 85 hydrants have been stolen in unincorporated areas of the county, and another 14 in Lynwood, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The department’s Century Station has partnered with the LASD Major Crimes Bureau to investigate the thefts.

Tuesday's Webb Fire kicked off wildfire season in North Central Washington, what's next?

Wildfire season is now underway in North Central Washington after a 554-acre fire near East Wenatchee ignited Tuesday afternoon. The Wenatchee Valley Fire Department deals with 3-6 large scale wildfires every summer according to Chief Brian Brett. He says the area is especially susceptible to fires because of inherent conditions.

Spokane firefighters rescue unconscious dog after pipe incident

Members of the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) rescued a dog they found unconscious after chewing on a pipe. On Wednesday, May 29, an engine from the SFD was dispatched to East Queen Avenue for a reported overdose. According to Spokane firefighters, they encountered a woman holding a tiny, three-pound, nine-month-old Chihuahua.
