Gov. Inslee declares state of emergency for wildfires, announces limited burn ban

In response to growing risk of wildfires Governor Jay Inslee declared a statewide state of emergency Tuesday and introduced a ban on most outdoor and agriculture burning through Sept. 30, 2021. "Washington is facing a historic drought and we have already experienced record-breaking heat," Inslee said.

Haystack fire breaks out in Franklin County, cause is unknown

Monday at 9:20pm Fire District 5 was called out to a hay stack fire that was burning north of Pasco, on Elm Road. It was called in by someone who could see the glow from the Juniper Dunes. When crews got there, they found two stacks of hay burning. They called in help from a nearby department and the Bureau of Land Management.

Lancaster County (PA) Fire Station Costs Increased

COVID-19 delayed a long-expected fire station project and now costs are too high, reports Fox 43.

Lancaster Township Fire had received all the necessary approvals and permits, but the cost to build has become $700,000 more than anticipated.

The current plan is to wait and see if the cost goes back down or fundraise to make up for the difference. The new facility will be built for modern firefighting and replace long outdated facilities.

Ashland (OH) Fire Station Begins Dispatch Service

Ashland’s second fire station has started dispatching vehicles, reports Ashland Source.

Since July, the fire station began dispatching its newly donated fire truck and an ambulance while there remain a few finishing touches on the $2.85 million project.

Construction started on the fire station in October and was completed in late June. The 12,000 square-foot facility features a two-and-a-half bay garage, a mezzanine and equipment platform, administrative spaces and living quarters.

New Fire Apparatus for Middleton Township (OH)

The Middleton Township Fire Department is hosting a push-in ceremony to celebrate the arrival of a new fire truck, reports Sentinel-Tribune.

The truck will be dedicated to former firefighter and captain who worked for the fire department for 50 years.
